The Tower Arts Centre presents "Vistas in a Crowded Land", an exhibition of landscape photographs in the vicinity of Twyford and Winchester, Hampshire. 7 January to 9 February 2008 The exhibition, “Vistas in a Crowded Land”, consists of 32 large landscape photographs in the vicinity of Twyford and Winchester familiar to most local people. The result of more than 3 years’ work, it captures the drama of the skies and the beauty of a land endangered by the on going and increasing encroachment of housing and roads. Some of the vistas seen here may soon be lost. The problem is not merely visual, but aural, so sound recordings of the pictures’ environs complement the exhibition. Each photo is accompanied by an Ordnance Survey map showing the exact location and view from which it was taken – including the OS grid reference number!
